On the contrary, with MBUX SOUND DRIVE the music already reacts to your personal driving style and your vehicle becomes a virtual musical instrument – by means of the accelerator pedal, brake and steering wheel. This transforms the extraordinary driving experience in your Mercedes-AMG into a fascinatingly emotional, musical journey – and takes Mercedes-AMG in-car entertainment to a new level.
Ingeniously innovative – innovatively ingenious
MBUX SOUND DRIVE connects the vehicle's hardware with the music software using precise "in-car signals". The system employs sensors and advanced software to interpret driving dynamics such as acceleration, steering, braking and recuperation and transforms them into musical expressions. This allows drivers to "compose" practically in real time. In the future, the technology will also be able to synchronize with other "signals" – for example with rain sensors on the windscreen. This will enable calming rhythms to be played in bad weather to reduce stress and promote concentration.
From sound experience to experience sound platform
MBUX SOUND DRIVE offers you a fascinating sound experience. But in the long term, the feature has the potential to transform into an open music platform. Because MBUX SOUND DRIVE completely redesigns music through driving. It could encourage music creators worldwide to create new works in a new immersive audio format and reinterpret classics for driving. For any genre – and for more drive in the sound.
MBUX SOUND DRIVE – soon to be launched
The launch of MBUX SOUND DRIVE will start at the end of 2024 and will be available for Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Benz with AMG Line vehicles equipped with the second generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system. As customers you will receive a notification when the MBUX software update is available in your region. You will then be able to download and install it over-the-air (OTA) using the update assistant on the MBUX media display or in the Mercedes me app.
